FLANDERS FIELDS

In 'flanders fields', the museum about the 1st world war, a must! The many, often very beautiful, cemeteries in and around Ypres, including the largest British military cemetery 'Tyne cot cemetery'.

Art festival Watou, the beautiful village of Watou is devoted to art and poetry all summer long!

During the summer period: the musical Tuesdays in Ypres Beaufort, a permanent sculpture park spread over 65 km of coast The cities of Bruges, Lille, Kortrijk, Ghent, ... are less than an hour away

In the center of Ypres you will find plenty of shops and boutiques, nice restaurants and cafés!


NATURE
Beautiful walks, the green belt around the historic city center, very nice for walking, jogging, ... 
You can pick up on the network of nodes, put together your own cycling or walking route, you will find various maps and routes in the house. The North Sea with its beautiful beaches and dunes is a 35-minute drive away. The beautiful picturesque landscape of the hilly country, a 10-minute drive from Ypres

BELLEWAERDE
Bellewaerde, a super fun amusement park, but you can also admire animals such as elephants, giraffes, lions, tigers, monkeys, ... It is best to take a full day for this! 

Bellewaerde Aquapark, that is a fantastic adventure for young and old. Relax in a natural oasis of greenery and slide from one water attraction to another with the whole family. In this way parents and children enjoy a unique experience in a slide for the whole family!

FUN FOR CHILDREN
Nothing more fun for the children than a picnic in the Palingbeek, an open grassy area in a forest with a large playground, fun for very small and somewhat larger children.

10 minutes drive to the fortresses in Ypres and you are in the sports complex. There you have a large swimming pool with a separate toddler and a heated toddler pool. Next to the pool you have a nice playground with a small Robinson parker. 
You can rent a boat to sail at the fortresses Climbing the tower of the Belfry is a challenge for the tough walkers, at the top of the tower your effort is rewarded with a beautiful view!
